About Josh

Learn more about Josh Berry

In 2015, Josh Berry will again steer the JR Motorsports late-model charge in the No. 88 Speedco Chevrolet. On the heels of a season that included a second track championship at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway and 11 wins in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS), Berry continues to make his mark in JRM history. The 24-year-old now stands as the only JRM driver to win multiple championships for the organization.

To bolster his title at Hickory, Berry totaled 22 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes on the season. His success at the local level also carried him into NASCAR XFINITY competition in 2014. Berry made two starts for JRM in the No. 5 Chevrolet, at Iowa Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Berry began his racing career at age eight, competing in the Tennessee Karting Association before progressing to the highly-acclaimed World Karting Association in 2001. Following several seasons racing go-karts, Berry and his father made the decision to progress his career to INEX Legends cars in 2006. Over the course of three years, Berry collected 21 feature victories and track championships at the famed Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tenn.

Berry was tabbed by team-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2010 and joined the JRM late-model program that spring. In only a year, he was named Late Model Most Popular Driver by Speed51.com. Berry leveraged the popularity into on-track success in 2012, taking home track champion honors in the NWAAS at Motor Mile Speedway (Radford, Va.). His dominating season included one win, 15 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in 18 races.

Following up a strong season in 2012, Berry secured a pair of wins in 2013 at Hickory Motor Speedway. Proving his track versatility, he also qualified inside the top 10 out of 80 cars, in two appearances at Martinsville Speedway’s annual 300-lap event.

From its inception in 2002, JR Motorsports has competed locally each year with drivers like TJ Majors (spotter for Earnhardt and Regan Smith), Richard Boswell (engineer for JRM’s No. 88 entry in the XFNITY Series) and Jeremy McGrath (seven-time Supercross Champion).
